Still not anxious, still not excited, but looking forward to starting school in 16 days. I believe I have the determination and discipline to do 4 online classes. Well, 3 classes and the 1 student development course. My mom said she couldn’t do online classes, Teresa has said she probably couldn’t do online classes, I am gonna do online classes and I am gonna do well in them. I just have to keep telling myself that and I will be fine.
It has been discussed, it has been decided. On June 8th, I am going on a diet. I think I mentioned this before, the diet and exercise plan. Well, I have no talked it over with Teresa and she is 100% on board. We have tentatively chosen Weight Watchers as our program because a few of our recipes that we already make are on the weight watchers approved list, and points sound easy enough to follow. No more points, no more food in the mouth. Weight Watchers is also cheaper than other plans (the ones with structure, technically atkins is cheapest, but it’s all over the place finding info) with a 3.84 a week online/on phone plan. Yup, I don’t want to attend meetings or have a one-on-one coach, just want to track points easily.
Exercise-wise I am gonna join the gym at DMACC for free. However, I am gonna get a personal trainer cuz of my other health issues and they aren’t free. It’s 50 bucks for the first 2 sessions and then 35 bucks per session thereafter.
The gym at DMACC is really cool, I just hope that being close to the chlorine in the pool won’t set off my allergies. Commercial levels of chlorine smell makes me ill. Getting in would make me go to the hospital. So, avoid the pool area at all costs.
I found out that part of my problem with overheating is do to my Abilify. When I start to get hot, I get really hot and then sweat just pours off me. Abilify even puts a warning in their paperwork about Heat and Exercising. Basically say drink tons of water while you exercise. I can do that.
Anyhow, the goal is to lose 35ish pounds. And I am not in a big rush to do that. First goal is to stop putting more weight on. My metabolism changed after chemo and I can’t eat like I did before chemo. So, something (Diet and Exercise) must be done about it. I would start right away, but I am going on vacation the end of the month/beginning of next month and my brother’s party is full of foods that are not on the approved list, so would be stupid to start and then blow it in such a big way. So June 8th I will see my doctor and make sure everything is OK with me, and then start my diet and exercise routine.
My last blood work by my regular doctor showed that my bad cholesterol was a tiny bit up and my blood glucose levels were a tad up. Not enough to be in bad range, but not in good range either. Dr Google told me those numbers weren’t good but weren’t bad enough to require medical intervention. I don’t want to be on cholesterol meds and or diabetes meds, both suck side effect-wise. So hopefully the aforementioned diet and exercise will head off more health issues and more meds. Oh yeah, my blood pressure is also up, pills are helping there, but I’d like to be able to come off that pill too.
