Day +63

Doctor A is finally referring my to a pulmonologist to see if they can figure out why my cough is so bad and has lasted so long.   Doctor A’s theories have been funny and his suggested cure has been extreme.  Lets hope a pulmonologist has a bit more to add to this and has a solution… like inhaled steroids.  The cough is really bad and it’s keeping Teresa and I up at night.  Not good when Teresa is trying to work.

Didn’t think about it today, but my blood pressure was 133/95, I need to  go back on my blood pressure meds.  I don’t want to have a heart attack or stroke or whatever you get from high blood pressure while recovering from the transplant.  So, next visit we will have a talk about blood pressure and what is working and what is not.

Hmm, Facebook and WordPress appear to be having a  slight problem.  I hope this gets posted over there.  Quite a few people read this from Facebook and it would be a shame for it not to work.

I really walked for the first time today.   I had done a bunch of sporadic walking but nothing serious.  Today I walked all 4 floors of the Gift of Life Transplant House North.  It was not easy, but I did it.  Well 3 1/2 floors, the cleaning lady was cleaning the other hall and I am allergic to something she uses to clean.

Teresa likes it too cold in the room.  But I haven’t felt the cold in a week or two.  Tonight I was freezing, broke out the UCLA Sweatshirt that I acquired from Jason some 26 or 27 years ago.  It’s probably the most comfortable piece of clothing I own.  It looks 30+ years old too.  Adds to the charm.

Teresa and I are going cupcake shopping this weekend.   Cupcakes for my birthday which is coming up pretty soon.   For anyone who feels they need to give me a gift, I am registered on Amazon.  Jeff Campbell from Adel, Iowa.  Make sure you ship it to my Rochester address though or it takes FOREVER to get here.  I don’t really expect anyone to get me anything, but I figured I would throw it in here just in case.

There is a Mennonite lady here who makes the best deviled eggs that I have ever tasted.  And they are so pretty.  She makes them pretty much every week and gives them away to the residents.  I loved deviled eggs and will eat 6 or so of them.   She makes like 6 dozen, so 6 isn’t a huge number.

The GvHD rash is back.  I may have to deal with that for the rest of my life.  I suppose if I had to get GvHD a not very itchy, but somewhat ugly rash I can deal with.  We are hitting it with steroid cream like mad trying to get rid of it.   Might be temporary.

It’s way past bed time.  I should be asleep instead of writing a blog entry.  But hey, I wanted to share some more stuff tonight.

Good night folks
