Things are better today

I posted a thank you on Facebook for Drew and Jay.  They took my sick car and made it drivable enough to get it to Adel Chrysler.  Then Drew hung out with my wife to make sure she was unmolested while waiting for the tow truck and then drove her to get the rental car.  He and his son Cody were here for about 4 hours I would estimate.  Drew went above and beyond to help us out.  He is a great friend.

While they were waiting for the tow truck to do its thing.  I was at Adel Chrysler waiting for a ride back to the house.  Their driver was making a “quick run” up to the Dodge dealership down the road 9 miles or so.  I sat for 2 hours waiting for the driver to return.  Finally he showed up, after I got a 200+ dollar quote for a new tire.  And then they drove me home.  Then Teresa got home and told me the whole story of what happened and I still think we should take Menards to court.  But in all seriousness, just glad Teresa was ok, the car not so much, someone tried to help get her unstuck and broke her car’s rear axel.  SUCKAGE.  EXPENSIVE.

We did end up getting a rental car for 10 bucks a day thru our insurance.  So we are not without transportation now.  My car should be running on Monday.  YAY.  I don’t know how many time I answered the question if the car had been sitting for a  while.  Only since April.  Heh.

We didn’t end up getting to go out with Drew and Bridget, neither Teresa not I were feeling up to it.  We will get with them soon, and buy them dinner.  It’s the least I can do for all Drew has done for us.

So, yesterday didn’t really get any better.  Yep, it sucked.  Today is looking a little better because we aren’t doing or planning anything.  Just chillaxing in bed most of the day.  I think Teresa plans on trying a new meatloaf tonight.  She’s gotten into new recipes and I’ve gotten in to eating well.

Danny’s Thursday D&D game which was preempted by Thanksgiving this week, is being played tomorrow (Sunday) evening.  Assuming he can get at least most of us to show up it should  be all good.  Been looking forward to this particular game for 2 weeks.  This is the game where the caravan master thanks us for saving his caravan.  We were such heroes.

Then now that my party is level 5, time to mix things up a bit.  Beyond the warlock switching out to be a mage.  I got plans for Tuesday night.  Very rarely do I giggle or snort while making plans, but this should be fun.  I had fun making these plans, so I hope my party has fun playing them.

Then we will resume Danny’s game on its prescribed Thursday night.   I have no idea where we are going, but so far its all good.

My Monday morning game I was gonna start in January has been cancelled.  Dr. Alkhateeb’s  office scheduled my appointment for Monday, December 3rd, which means we will probably be on Mondays for the next several appointments.  BLAH.  I liked Fridays.  But I posted about it on Facebook.  I hope everyone who was gonna play hears.  I don’t know when or if I will run the game during the day, but it’s looking pretty much like I won’t.  Which is sad.  I wanted to do this for my friend.

So, I finally just asked Teresa what she wanted for Christmas.  I came up with several ideas that she shot down.  So, asking her directly was the proper solution.  She wants an automatic recliner chair (recliner with electric buttons that make it recline instead of the bar) or a 32″ Curved Monitor to hook to her Mac.  They are about the same price.  All things considered, I will get her the monitor, before she steals mine.  She doesn’t have anywhere to put the chair yet.

I’m gonna push Dr. Alkhateeb to take me off tacrolimus quicker, so I can get the bone marrow biopsy before the end of the year.  1.  I want to know the results and 2.  Insurance will cover it 100% before the end of the year.  Probably more 2 than 1.  But still, its time to come off the tac and go about my life, however its going to be.
