Too much for the first time out after cancer

Had a great time at ArctiCon.  Played Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game, and also played Shannon’s Call of Cthulhu game.  Had a blast with both games.  Too bad it was my first outing after being cleared of cancer, by 3pm I was wiped out, made it to 4:30pm and headed back to Mom and Jim’s house.  I was gonna play Ars Magica from 5pm to 9pm but I was just too tired and hurting from sitting so much.  DCC is a really cool game, and if I had in my face friends, I would buy it and play it a lot.  But the cool thing is, I got a free game for just showing up, and then won a $99.99 game for 1 dollar.  WOOT.  It’s the new version of Blood Bowl.  I played the original 35 years ago and loved it.  This one might never be opened do to lack of in my face gaming friends.  Ah, such is my life.  But the most important thing about ArctiCon was how wonderful everyone was.

It was wet here today, 40+ degrees and wet.  Rain rain rain.  Much better than the freezing rain/snow that is happening in Adel, Iowa.  I think I picked a good time to come to the Region.

25 days till Spring.

I actually slept pretty good last night and tonight I figure I will dead to the world, cuz this is one tired dude.  Tomorrow, I am buying Jennifer Young lunch as a thank you for initially welcoming me to stay at her home.  It’s the least I can do for her.  She was gonna put me up for the weekend till Monday morning.

My car is acting up again.  When the engine is cold it doesn’t want to idle.  Once the engine warms up a little it runs fine.  But the non-idling thing is really annoying, having to clutch and give gas when you sit at a stop sign.  I had to that while trying to get out of my parking spot at the convention.  Last time it did this kind of thing it cost serious money to get it fixed.  I hope it was just a fluke thing this time.  Guess I will find out tomorrow.

Felt good to FINALLY send out my big announcement.  Reception from people has already been amazing.   And with my plans to use my gaming friends to help me out, getting word out might not be as hard as originally though.

TTRPG.ORG is gonna rock.  Just have to get to work on it and that starts Tuesday.  It’s gonna be a lot of work, but I am pretty sure I can handle it.  Web page development is NOT rocket science.  I will probably have the video of the class I took playing in the background while I plug away at programming because the teacher went too fast and I honestly don’t think I learned much.  I was exposed to it, but learn it, no.  Waste of $11.99 will get more out of the books I have bought.

Anyhow, starting Tuesday, and by hook or by crook, I will program the crap out of the website as fast as I can. I promise.
