Mayo in the morning, getting up too early

I found the 5th player for my D&D campaign called Aravas.  Went back to one of my original players in my first or second attempt at D&D online.  Chris Collins, snowboarder, WOW progressive raid guild leader, and Dungeon and Dragons player.  Yes, in my small collection of gamers I have 2 people names Chris and I have 3 people named Dave, that is out of about 15 people.  Anyhow, I asked Chris and says it sounds cool, which I assume meant yes, but he hasn’t joined the Facebook group yet, so he might not have meant yes.  Oh bother, I should have asked him directly if he wanted to play and then I would have gotten a yes or no answer.  Lance wants to play too, if he can get mumble working on his computer.   Lance is in California, so he would be playing from 4 to 7pm.  Playing during dinner time it would seem.  We can run with six players, it’s the normal number I end up with.  Lance is supposed to let me know if he is going to play later today.  It’s all good as long as I don’t go over six.  Chris is definitely in, he just confirmed for me.

While I am at Mayo talking to Doctors and doing some tests.  My car will be being fixed.  I hope not a lot is wrong with it.  The transmission seal is leaking, we know that, but Adel Chrysler said something about the steering having an issue too.   Bah, let the experts up in Rochester have a crack at it, they should be able to fix whatever is wrong.  It’ll be nice to have a fixed car again.

I have officially debunked Teresa’s theory that if I get up and move around more I will cough less.  In fact, I have proved just the opposite.   Getting up and move around causes me to cough more.  Therefore, since it’s a totally non-productive cough, I am going back to how I was before. Laziness.   It’s asthma, activity makes it worse.  It’s caused by crap in the air, allergies effectively.  Stirring up the crap in the air only make it worse.  I lived with asthma for 19 years, I know what its like and what you are supposed to do.  So, its 30 years later, asthma hasn’t changed.  Same meds as before (except no theophylline) an inhaler and a steroid inhaler.  Between the two things are marginally better, but it still sucks to have outgrown asthma only to have it come back 30 years later.

15 days till Spring.  The weather is finally going to get above freezing starting Friday.  After snow again on Thursday.  Friday its supposed to be like 37 degrees.  Then Saturday, Sunday and Monday more of the same.   Yeah, we are supposed to have weather to go along with the high 30 temps.  Snow into rain, ice into rain.  But still we will have melting finally.  Can hardly wait.  Maybe this means winter is finally going to loosen it’s chokehold and give in to Spring.   That would be sweet.  No weather guy will say it yet though.  So, we just have to wait and see.

Email problem is fixed.  Turns out that my ipad was spamming an old password which kept getting my account locked.  Most frustrating.   Now everything is working as its supposed to.  Yeah, buddy.  I get my email in 4 places.  Computer, Laptop, iPad and iPhone.  And they are all living happily together now.  No more getting my account locked for wrong password.

205.4 was my weight before lunch.  I am happy with that.  Would be happier if I was still around 200, but can’t have everything.  I like to eat too much.  And I specifically like to eat fattening foods.  So, unless I am going to start exercising (HA) I’m gonna keep above the 200 spot.  However, if I can stay around 205, I will be happy.

Mayo tomorrow.  Have to get up at 3am to get out of here by 4am to get there by 8am, so I am not late for anything.

I have a consultation at 8:15 we think its with the endocrine Doctor(s) to get me off this other steroid.  I think I am ready to take back control.  I was put on it to boost my eating and give me energy.  Eating I am doing fine on, energy comes and goes.  Today I am energyless.  I’m going to be honest with them and tell them I want off the steroid.

Then blood draw.  I wonder what weird test Dr. Alkhateeb is going to run this time.  Last time the vampire had to look up what one was when I asked.  I am assuming we will have Vitamin C and D and copper along with all the standard blood tests.

Then is the pulmonary test that I hate.  I don’t know why I have to do it again, but hey, let’s do it again.

Then I get a chest x-ray.  Ooh, I can tell you are just as excited as I am.  At least they got me in at the close x-ray place and didnt try to send me off on a 5 block walk to get the x-ray like they tried before.

Then I have a 3+ hour break.   What to do in Rochester when you don’t have a car and it’s too frickin cold to walk anywhere?  I think I am actually gonna take my laptop.  Heh, its not too heavy and it’ll let me play something while we wait.  Yeah, that is what I will do.

Then starting at 3:15 we have the pharmacist, the nurse and finally Dr. Alkhateeb himself.  Finishing up around 5 o’clock.   Yeah, I just shared my boring day with you, don’t you feel special.

Dr. Alkhateeb SHOULD have a tentative schedule of when I am to get the stem cell transfusions.  I want to get on these asap, because I want them done and the acute GvHD done by August.  Shouldn’t be a problem I wouldn’t think.

I want them done before August so I can go to GenCon, haven’t spoken to Teresa about this, but it has been a dream for me for as long as I can remember to go to GenCon.  And it’s only in Indianapolis.  Drive to my mom’s stay a couple days, then drive down to Fisher’s and stay with Bruce and Cori and drive in to GenCon for 4 days of gaming fun.  Drive back to mom’s stay 1 more day, then drive home on my birthday to have birthday dinner with Teresa.  See, I have it all  planned out.  Just need to know if I am going to be able to go to GenCon health wise before I shell out the bucks to buy a badge.

I have pretty much given up on all the other conventions this year.  Except maybe DemiCon which is the one held here in Des Moines.  I’ll probably go to that one if I am not acute GvHDing too hard.
