The next couple days after the party

Monday morning was taken up by taken up by my mom and I taking my aunt to a doctor’s visit.  Seemed to take forever, but was realistically only 2 hours there.  Then we took her home.

After dropping her off we headed to the hospital so I could get a couple blood tests that Dr. Alkhateeb ordered.  When she punched in my name and date of birth it brought up a record from 30ish years ago when I lived on County Line Road in Portage.  It’s a new hospital which has records from the old hospital that was unhospitalized several years ago.  Anyhow, that took about 30 minutes to register and get the blood drawn.  I do not know the results of said tests, but Dr. Alkhateeb does, so I guess it doesn’t matter.  Or it wasn’t emergent as I did not receive any message or call or text from Mayo today.

I opted not to go with mom to take my aunt to her second doctor appointment, but that one took 2 hours too.  Mom looked wiped out when she got home.

Jim then took us out for steak at the Longhorn.  I think it was ok but overpriced.  They overcooked mom’s medium rare steak and undercooked my medium steak.  Mom sent her’s back.  I just ate mine.  Jim’s porterhouse looked perfect.  We came home and I played a little on my computer, a little on my phone, and chatted with mom and Jim a little too.  Until Jim went in the computer room to work an overtime night.

Today I slept till 6:30am.  WOO HOO.  Actually slept PAST 6am for the first time in forever.  Took my 7am pills, then went back to sleep till my 9am pills, then slept until almost noon.  Got up and had 2 bowls of applejacks and felt like crap afterwards from too much sugar.  That wiped me out for a couple hours.  I know better than to do that, but I was hungry and figured it’d be no big deal.  HA.

Sat around doing much of nothing for most of the afternoon.  Played a little on my computer, figured out how to download an app on my phone (don’t laugh, without the button/thumb thing of earlier iphones, it was weird), and just blew today off.  I did walk for about 45 minutes.

At 6:10 or so, Rodney showed up to take me to dinner.   We went to Texas Roadhouse and got a perfectly cooked New York Strip steak.  Rodney got a pork chop.  This steak dinner was much better than last nights.  And cost considerably less.  Oh well, I did not pay for either, so it’s all good.

After dinner I played a very little Skyrim.  And then putzed around on Facebook and Twitter for a bit while I waited for my mother and brother to get back from their dinner, which was about an hour later.  Jim left for work at 9pm, and I started writing this blog entry around 9:30pm.  It’s 10pm now, I need to Facetime Teresa in a few minutes.

Have watched more Chicago Cubs baseball in the past few days than I normally do all season.  My mom is a huge fan.

Rodney and I confirmed our dinner plans today and had dinner together tonight.  Jenny confirmed brunchtime plans for Thursday, so no sleeping till noon for me on Thursday.  It’s all good, at least some of my friends really want to see me.  And are making an effort to do just that.

Tomorrow I got lunch with my mom, we are going to Dairy Queen so I can get a banana shake.  Gonna hit the Dairy Queen Brazier while we are out dog food shopping.  Mom said something about being on the 249, I think that is in Valpo.  It’s all good, I get to spend more time with my mom.  I miss her so much and when I get a chance like this I spend a lot of time with her.

So, I have decided that I am going to start looking for a D&D game again.  Going to start by asking my friends if anyone has a campaign with an open spot.  Going to do that before searching randomly thru reddit or the 5e Facebook group.  Hopefully one of my friends will hook me up, it’d just be a whole lot easier.

I catch the bus back to the airport at 5:50pm on Friday.  It’s 2 hours from here to the aiport.  Then I will be 2 hours to get thru TSA and everything and get to my gate to catch my plane home.  Then there is the long drive home from the airport economy lot.  I should be home a little before midnight on Friday.  It’s going to be a long day.
