Good News from Mayo and my Bucket List

Just got home from Mayo and got good news.  The DLI that I had last week seems to be working, instead of dropping 7-11 points this week I only dropped 1.  Which probably means I dropped all those points and then gained back a bunch.  The 6 months to 12 months left to live just might be extended some.  Not fooling myself thinking I am going to have a real long life, but maybe 12-18 months is doable.  Hey, Dr. Alkhateeb said the DLI should work for me and who was I to doubt him, he is the one with the Medical Degree after all.  I probably would stop doubting him as often if he quit saying ,”I don’t know.” and “I’m just guessing.”

Anyhow, the crud I had for the past few days seems to be gone.  The CRNP (whose name I have forgotten) listened to my lungs and heard junk in my left lung, but the x-ray they had me take showed no infection, so I am all good.  Whatever I had is over, now it is just back to be tired from not sleeping very well at night.  But I am used to that and there is nothing a doctor can do for it, so I just live with it.

We didn’t get to play Aravas, my Dungeons and Dragons campaign last night.  Cori and Tabitha had a kitten emergency going on.  And my official policy is if 2 or more can’t make it, then we don’t play.  And specifically for this session I need all 6 players to be present.  Their presence is almost as important as it was in the first session.  So, we have pushed it off one more week.  Then the following week I might be having my second DLI, but I won’t know until that Monday.  Frustrating for me and my players.

Tomorrow morning I have to get up really ridiculously early to get to Dr. Wehbe’s office to have my Cortisol level checked.  It’s gonna be fine.  I feel great if you don’t count allergies and my knee (which feels betterish) and my hip and back (which my knee has messed with.  Yeah, if you don’t count all of that, oh and my cancer issue, I feel pretty damn good.  Good enough to come up with 2 things on my bucket list which will require a partner is acquiring.

The 2 items on my Bucket List are a Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl’s Jr and a Macho Combo Burrito from Del Taco.  Now, for those of you who live out western way, these are easy to come by.  Here, the closest of either is an 8+ hour drive.  Teresa can’t afford to take the time off.  She even went so far as suggesting I fly into Denver have one for dinner, then stay the night, have the other for lunch and then fly back.  Those would end up being really expensive fast food.  So I am hoping I can find someone who can afford to take a couple days off, and we drive to Oklahoma have one for dinner, stay the night, and have the other for lunch and drive back.  Be a little less expensive than flying I would think.  And yes, I know this is a pathetic bucket list, but we aren’t rich, and I still can’t go anywhere cool even if we could afford it.

Well, I have to say that I am tired tonight.  I got moving around 8:30am and we got home about 8:45pm.  Mayo trips make for long days.  I am hoping I can get some sleep tonight.  It would not be a bad thing at all.
