Finally got word on my DLI

Today was the day I was supposed to get my flu shot (according to my schedule, I hadn’t mad an appointment).  I called MercyOne Adel only to find out that 2 of their practioners were going to be out this afternoon and they had no where to fit me in.  DOH.  So much for that thought, looking like next week.  Teresa said this years shot hurt, I reminded her I have been getting Baby Shots and no way the flu shot hurts anywhere near the baby shots.  But I guess I will find out for sure next Tuesday morning.

Hey, we finally got word from Dr. Alkhateeb’s office at Mayo.  DLI prep day is Wednesday October 2nd, and the DLI itself will happen Thursday October 3rd.  Funny thing though, I may need blood on October 2nd, which will make a long day even longer.   But we finally have the days.  Teresa has already requested them off.  We are going to Mayo on October 2nd.  Thank the gods for small miracles.  It’s not like I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this news.  This DLI should take a lot longer than the 5 minutes the last one did (+4 hours of fluids).  I am actually looking forward to this one, I hope it does what it’s supposed to do.

In the mean time, I have asked Dr. Alkhateeb’s team to fax MOHA (Dr. Wehbe’s office) with asking for 2 times a week blood tests.  I did some figuring and I will be fine for this Wednesday’s draw, but if I wait till the following Wednesday, I will be definitely less than 7 on hemoglobin.  However, that 2nd Wednesday I will be at Mayo.  So I hope they fax the request to MOHA so I can be checked on Monday too and if I need blood can get it on Tuesday, so I don’t feel horrible the entire trip up to Mayo on Wednesday.  I think it is a reasonable request since I am dropping hemoglobin so fast.

Teresa is coming home early today (just a little) to take Pucky and Mojo to the Vet for their yearly shots and check up.  It’s nice that the Vet office is like a block away.  Makes it really convenient to get Pucky and Mojo there.  And our vet (and the vets he works with) are all top notch, so that is nice too.

It’s Friday Night, but there is no Gang Friday Night Game tonight.  I mentioned that the DM and a couple of the players are going to see Dennis DeYoung in concert tonight in Muncie, Indiana.  I would have loved to go, but with my health the way it is, just couldn’t make it.  So anyhow, it’s Friday night and I have nothing to do really.  Maybe Teresa and I can go out for dinner instead of eating here which we have done all week.  Here gets boring after a while of being stuck here.  But here is better than a lot of restaurants when Teresa cooks.
