Easter DnD Medical Stuff

So, Easter came and went like any other Sunday except that Teresa cooked a big meal, or rather Teresa cooked a meal and I ate way too much.  Teresa cooked a ham, au gratin potatoes, green beans and fresh rolls.  She did her normal fantastic job making this dinner.  I ate and ate, I am a firm believer in if I put it on my plate I should eat it.  Well, I kind of went overboard, she finished hers and I still had 10-15 minutes to go on my plate.  It’s all good.  According to the scale today I did not put on nay weight from Sunday.  Heh.

I mentioned that I played Dungeons and Dragons last Friday night.  Well, I think we are playing this Friday night as well, but I don’t know who is running it or what level or anything.  I probably should ask, I probably will ask, but as of now I just know that the Gang Gaming Group games every Friday night.

Also, on Tuesday nights I will be running a new Dungeons and Dragons campaign starting next week.  The usual faces are my players, Cori, Jason, Derek, Jet, and Danny.  I have my own Discord Server and it is set up how I want it.  I decided that I am going to run an Non Player Character along with them, so if someone else wants to DM, I will have a character of the same level with the same experiences that he party knows so there is no goofy new guy mistrust and such.  The campaign is called the Tombs of Maloon, so it is set up to run as many tombs as I feel up to.  It’ll be good to be running a campaign again.  Gives me something to do.

My next medical thing is April 23rd and its a visit with Dr. Wehbe to show him I am STILL doing well on the chemo.  It is like a 5 minute appointment with him telling bad jokes and me groaning the whole time.

After that will be chemo on May 4th, 5th, and 6th.  The visit with Wehbe and the chemo will all be at the downtown office.  Blah.  I hate going to the downtown office.  I think I have went into detail about why I hate going to the downtown office before, so I will spare you that today.

Then I will have another appointment with Wehbe on the 21st of May.  More of the same, I hope the close office is open again by then but it might not be.  And that would mean one more visit downtown.

Next in line is my Bone Marrow Biopsy at Mayo on May 28th.  We may leave on the 27th and stay in a hotel the night before because the scheduled everything really early.  Depends on if the Corona Virus issue is much better or not.  If we don’t go down on the 27th we will be leaving at 4:00 am to get their on time for the first appointment.  I’ll be a zombie all day if that happens and I will try to sleep in the car on the way home.  Teresa is a driving monster, she can get up and drive at 4 do a whole day running around Mayo and then drive us home.  She is a remarkable woman.

Then chemo on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, fun fun.  But at least by June the closer office in Clive will be reopened.  Yay for the small things.

That is as far as I care to think about Medically.  There has been talk of a second transplant.  There has been talk of chemo for life.  There has been a lot of talk about a lot of different things medically.  Let us hope Dr. Alkhateeb has a brilliant idea and puts me back into remission.  I know for sure now that I have lab work every 2 weeks for the rest of my life or until I get tired of going and just want everything to end.  No, I am nowhere near that point yet.

I am enjoying having Teresa home.  We are eating in a lot more often.  I’ve put on a little weight which is a good thing.  Teresa is an excellent cook.  So that makes eating in all that more enjoyable.  I wish there was a different reason for her being able to work from home, but I’ll take the COVID-19 excuse anyway.

I am off to go find out if and what we are playing on Friday night.  I haven’t played with them in a while except last Friday which was the end of Cori’s adventure.  So, I have no clue what they are planning.  I also need to harass Danny a little more to get him on Discord and to get his character made for my Tuesday night game.

Remember to stay safe, stay sane, stay home.
