Happy Summer Solstice

It is Saturday June 20th, the first day of 20, the longest day of the year, and summer solstice for those who celebrate/recognize that. So Happy Solstice, everyone. More storms are in the forecast for today and still cooler with a high today of 79. I so could handle living somewhere that was 79 all the time. It’s a dull dreary day, but a day I could go outside and play in the rain if I wanted to, but I don’t want to, jus the option is there.

Last nights, Chronicles of the Lost Dungeons and Dragons game was incredible. Another superb night playing with Dave, other Dave, Cori, Scott, and Kayla. Craig was absent. The whole premise of the night was that other Dave’s character, Garret took his father’s armor without permission and Demons attacked while the party was gone. And his father, who was Captain of the Guard went out to fight the Demons. Well, he was captured. When the party came back, Garret found out and after some excellent role playing, the party tromped off into the Demon Wastes. Now, the party was only level 4. And there are lots of Demons in the Demon Waste. Powerful Demons if you are unlucky enough to find them. Lucky for them, I am a nice DM and only had them run into 3 weak demons, but the demos put up a heck of a fight and the party decided it was best to skedaddle and head back home. Know if there had been 6 demons, they would have died. So, when they got back, Garret was all mopey and Harmony was all offended and good times were had by all, except Craig. They got level 5 for 3 hours of great roleplaying and managing to kill 3 Babau Demons. Maybe I shouldn’t have leveled them for such little amount of work, but it was that good, so I did.

My mom and brother did find an apartment in Longmont, Colorado and right now they are here in Adel, Iowa. Again they are just staying the night, but that’s ok, they have to be back in the Region tomorrow at noon. So I totally understand, I wish I could have spent more time with them, but that just wasn’t to be this visit. Mom said once they get settled, she will fly us out any time we want. That is cool. Plus there is a Del Taco 7.1 miles from their apartment, so I will get to finish my food bucket list. WOOT. And for the record there are a bunch of Carl’s Jr’s in Longmont, and a Hu Hot 22 minutes away. So eating while there will be a pleasure.

The rest of today is gonna be saying goodbyes and napping. I wonder if its genetic cuz my brother likes to nap a lot too. Anyhow, I have zero things planned today. So I may work a little on D&D stuff or I may not. It all depends on how I feel later today.

Still perturb that my Chill book won’t be reshipped until July 6th. I need that book. I hate reading books on the computer or on my ipad. It’s just not how role playing books are meant to be read.

I need more orange and cream gummi bears. I am almost out (probably 2 days worth). I just can’t stop eating them, they are so good. Maybe this time I will have Teresa order 2 five pounds bags, yeah, that is what I’ll do. Cheaper on shipping.

Tomorrow is Jason’s Dungeons and Dragons Eberron campaign. At least I hope it is. He announced there are only about 6 sessions left. So I am ready to get them done. Not that I want to rush the ending. Just if its gonna end lets get to it. Soon enough we will be playing Jason’s Dungeons and Dragons Spelljammer campaign. And all will be settled back to semi-normal. Still don’t know what I am gonna play, but I have weeks to figure it out.

My next chemo run starts in 9 days on Monday the 29th. Which means I have 5 more chemo cycles after this one before I can come off chemo. Yup, the chemo run of November 16th, 17th and 18th might very well be my last at least for a while. To be honest, I don’t think I will survive long without the chemo at least where I am right now. I honestly think this chemo is keeping me alive. Might feel different in 5 months, we will see.

Still bummed about Covid-19 squashing my Still Not Dead Party. It was supposed to be on August 8th. Even have a place to hold it even though mom and Jim are moving to Colorado. Just a totally sucky situation. So, my Still Not Dead Party SHOULD be held August 7th, 2021 at an unknown location at this time. By August of next year, I hope we have a vaccine.
