Go Speed Racer Go

Welcome to Friday, July 3rd, 2020. Another in the stream of hot and muggy days that are what is to become the normal for the next month or so. It’s like this every year, but this year is special because we have Covid-19 to keep us company. So when everyone is sweating and uncomfortable in the heat, they should be wearing a mask to protect themselves and more importantly to protect others. Teresa said she went to HyVee (the grocery store) and most people going in were wearing masks, but the employees all had their masks pulled down below their chins. Kind of defeating the purpose but hey they are probably technically meeting company requirements. It annoys me to no end that people aren’t taking this Coronavirus seriously. I am staying isolated as much as possible, but if I leave the house, I have a mask with me and on if I am dealing with people and I try to the 6ft distance thing too. So please people, use a mask and practice social distancing if not for your sake for others.

I’ve felt sick every night since Sunday, I don’t know what is wrong per se. Nausea, achy, mid-grade fevers (nothing over 100 which means a trip to the ER), dizziness, the list can go on, but none of them are bad by themselves, but together they are making me pretty miserable. We cancelled Fiese on Tuesday night half way thru, and I postponed Chronicles last night completely. I am hoping to feel better later cuz Cori is ready to run her one-ish shot tonight. I feel kind of rotten this morning, but that is par for most mornings. We’ll see how I feel later.

Teresa started watching Warrior Nun last night. I was leery cuz the trailer was kind of bad, not bad, just didn’t really make a lot of sense. But dang if by half way thru I wasn’t hooked. I won’t go into many details about the show in case you want to watch it. But the star of the show, Ava, is a fully developed character, she is believable. The Demons are pretty cool too. I am sure Teresa will watch a couple episodes today once she wakes up. I hope the show stays as cool as the first episode. That would make both of us happy.

I was all set to sleep in this morning, silly me, Teresa has the day off for 4th of July. This day was just like a weekend day. Jeff gets up at 6:45 or 7am and feeds the dogs and takes them out. Mojo must’ve had to go cuz he was right out the door behind Pucky. Then they come in and get a stale french fry as a treat. Oh, the hard life that these dogs have. They were both back asleep within 15 minuets and I did a bunch of PCH stuff, caught up on Facebook, and am writing this blog before I am ready to go back to sleep. Mind is thinking 100mph this morning, there will be no instant resleep, need my brain to calm down.

Teresa also got called to work last night. I do not know how long she worked. I slept thru all except for the initial ringing. But she rarely gets called now. Something really must have blown up for her to get a call in the middle of the night. So, I am gonna be really quiet next to her and let her sleep as long as she wants to.

I haven’t paid the invoice from Harmony House on Riverside yet. I’m trying to figure out if I have 50 people who want to make the trip to Adel. The building which I would be renting seats 150. So 50 will look kind of pathetic as it is. But do I have 50 friends in the Greater Des Moines area or willing to travel to the Greater Des Moines area, for my party. At this point, I do not know. I can count 5 or 6 off the top of my head, but that is a far cry from 50. Maybe my STILL NOT DEAD Party isn’t meant to happen here. I have till August 30th to decide. Between now and then I will make a list and see who I come up with.

I have 34 days to renew my drivers license. All I have to do is go up to the HyVee and let them scan my old license. Give them a debit card and wallah I will have a new license. Sounds simple enough, just have to get up off my butt and go. I will get it done in time. And the kiosk at HyVee is so much nicer than going to the DMV. I will go soon.
